Layered Cyanotype Prints

The prints draw from the architecture of the city — a landscape I feel is built in layers. Red brick and concrete sit beside glass and steel. Posters pasted over posters, paint layers, signs boarded over by newer signage. Graffiti, like a surface rewritten again and again. Its like everything gets built upon, cut through and you’ll see the city layers.

I’m also drawn to how the city continually builds over itself. It grows and sheds continuously, leaving traces of what came before. Old structures remain like impressions and coexist with modern buildings — a kind of architectural memory — embedded within the present.
